Keyboard Internet keys

  • I have recently attached a new Logitech Internet Keyboard but none of the internet keys work. A message appears saying “default browser unsupported or not installed”. How can I fix this? I use Netscape.

This is caused by Windows not recognising what web browser you use. Initially when you set up Netscape it asked if you would like to use Netscape as your default web browser. If you selected ‘No’ then the message would continually appear each time you open Netscape until you selected ‘do not show this message again’. If this message still appears click ‘Ok’ to select Netscape as your default browser, otherwise the best option is to re-install Netscape. So you don’t lose your bookmarks and address book go into Windows Explorer and switch to your Netscape directory and select the ‘users’ directory. Click the directory with your username as the name and copy the file ‘bookmark.htm’ to another location and then load Netscape address book, goto File menu and select ‘Save As’ and save it to the location of the bookmark file. Then uninstall Netscape (from Control Panel ‘Add/Remove programs’) and re-install it. When installed, copy the bookmark file back to the location mentioned before (over-write the other bookmark file there) and in address book select ‘Import’ from the file menu and select the location of the address book file. But remember, during setup click (when prompted) ‘Ok’ to select Netscape as your default browser.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
