Mac Internet connection

  • My friend has a Macintosh, and uses Eudora Light. But when Canberra started putting a ‘6′ in front of the phone number, her modem would not dial the server. She hasn’t had access to the net for a while, and desperately needs to check her e-mail. Could you help me fix it for her? How would I edit the connection and put a six in front of it?

I’m sorry but at this point I can only supply you with limited advice because you haven’t provided me with enough information. All I could say now would be that you would have to go into ‘Connection Properties’ and edit the phone number (if you are using MacOS 8+ it may ask for a password to edit these properties). If this doesn’t work please feel free to get back to me (but let me know what version of MacOS and the program used to dial she is using).

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
