Removing Internet Explorer
-
I installed Windows 98 over Windows 95 on dad’s computer. Dad doesn’t use Internet Explorer though windows98 installed it and I can’t remove it. Can Internet Explorer be removed? If so how can I uninstall it? Dad doesn’t like Windows 98, I didn’t backup the Windows 95 files, is there a way to re install Windows 95 without losing information or needing to reinstall all programs?
Internet Explorer is integrated into the core of Windows98 and is part of the actual operating system so it cannot be uninstalled. If it was possible to uninstall Internet Explorer it would be like taking a vital component out of a engine. It would cause the engine to not function properly or not at all. The other bad news is that it is not possible to restore Windows95 if you did not save backup information because when you installed Windows98 it installed over the top of 95, deleting Windows95’s data and installing Windows98 data over it. The only way to restore Windows 95 is to delete your whole system and start from scratch.
