Sound not working
-
I moved from Ipswich, QLD (you can guess why) to Canberra late last year. When I plugged in the computer and got everything working again I noticed that the sound wasn’t working. I have tried everything I can think of and
still I can’t get it to work. Any ideas?
This is probably not caused by a hardware conflict because it was all working fine until you moved your computer. The best way to diagnose and fix this problem would be to uninstall all the sound card software and drivers, take out the physical card from the computer (when it is off), reboot the machine, shut it down, and put the card back into the machine (again, when it is off to avoid getting electrocuted). This will allow the computer to start from scratch and hopefully, work when it is reinstalled, or diagnose the problem when it is installing it and tell you how to remedy it. If this doesn’t work the card may have been physically damaged during the move. In this case take it to a computer professional and get them to give it a look over to see if there are any components missing, damaged, etc’¦ that may be causing the problem and they can recommend how to fix it.
