Bullets in Word

  • In Microsoft Word 97, how do I have bullets with different levels? I need to have bulleted points that have sub-bullets of a different type. I want to have a bulleted list that can have sub-bullets too, but they must use a different symbol. How do I do that?

This is straight forward to accomplish once you know how to do it. The default bullet is a black dot that is used where text is to be presented in point form. After you have done the first bullet press enter and the next bullet will appear directly below. Repeat the process for subsequent bullets.. Levels of bullets are how far the bullet is indented into the page, it is like heading, sub-heading, sub-sub-heading, etc’¦ Then it is just a matter of pressing the tab button until the bullet is indented. You may use different symbols for each level of indent. To do this, right-click on the bullet and select ‘Bullets and numbering’¦’ then a box appears giving you a choice of symbols to change the bullets too.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
