Link PC to Hi-Fi

  • Can I bypass the 120 watt speakers connected to my PC and link the audio to the aux socket on my hi-fi sound system?

You can bypass your speakers but this requires caution, if it is done the wrong way then you could terminally damage your sound card. To do it safely, plug in your amplifier into the ‘Line out Jack’ on the back of your sound card. When it is plugged in here it will bypass your soundcards built in amplifier so that you will not damage it. If you want to connect devices such as a CD-player or tape player into your sound card so that you can record things from those devices onto your computer plug them into the ‘Line in Jack’ of your sound card.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
