Netscape Invalid Page Fault
-
Hi I’m having big problems when I’m on the internet 1 out of 2 times I’m in the net, a Netscape message will appear in a box stating: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. Netscape caused an invalid page fault in the module Netscape.exe. When this message appears on the screen I have to close Netscape and reload it again. What does this mean and how can I repair this inconvenient problem?
When this occurs click the ‘Details’ button and copy down the exact error message that is stated including any codes, reboot your computer, and start it up again. Crashes like this are caused by something unexpected happening while a computer application is opened. It is normally hard to track down the error but the error message may be able to help out. The best way to diagnose the problem is to isolate it. Reproduce the crash by doing exactly what you where doing when the crash occurred. If it occurs again you know what is causing it. To try and eliminate the problem try these things: (i) Regularly clean out your history and cache. Goto Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Cache. Click ‘Clear memory cache’ and ‘Clear disk cache’. (ii) If you are not using the latest version of Netscape (v4.07) then goto home.netscape.com and download the latest version for free. It has many fixes for bugs in earlier versions.
