Two function of my mouse is not working. (i) I cannot use it to drag and drop icons within and between folders. I can right click, double click (ii) When I click to select URL on my mail (Outlook Express), it doesn’t take me anywhere. I cannot right click to cut/copy either. I’m running Windows 98. I have re-installed the mouse driver from disk, but no difference. The mouse works perfectly fine on another machine! The shop that I bought it from suggested re-installing Windows 98! I’d prefer to leave that as the last option. Hope you can help. (more…)

When going into the net I am usually confronted by a dialogue box headed ‘WNetGetUser returned’. In the body of the box is the number 1 and an ‘OK’ button. If I do not click OK I am unable to establish a connection. I am told that my user name or password is invalid. If I do click OK I get a connection. Sometimes the box does not appear when attempting connection and on these occasions I am unable connect - the user name or password is said to be invalid. How can I get rid of this? (more…)

I also have a relatively big hard drive to store the music on. Is it possible to increase sound recorders 60sec capacity? Or is there any other application which would allow me to record the whole song from CD? (more…)

I’ve almost lost confidence in this whizbang gadgetry and ready to take up the pen again. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong when my replies just disappear after 20 minutes of careful consideration? I’m left with an empty box and have to restart my letters. It only happens occasionally but it’s enough to sap your confidence in the whole business. I’ve done all that I can to avoid this problem…I ’save’ my letters (unsuccessfully in several cases). I am careful not to touch other keys but still I lose them. I use Canberra Schools Network server, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Hotmail if it’s any help. Thanks in anticipation (more…)
