File Manager
-
When my friend opens File Manager in Win 3.1, the top of the window is above the top of the screen on the monitor such that the Title and Menu bars are inaccessible. He cannot “grab” the top border of the window to pull it down. Stretching the window out at the other borders to make it bigger makes the problem worse. In its current state the File Manager is nearly useless. Can you help?
The only explanation for this that I can think of is that someone resized the window using a different resolution or a bigger monitor. There is really only one way to fix this problem, it is ‘going blind’. I will give you keyboard stroke instruction and by pressing the right combination of keys you should be able to ‘maximize’ the window so that it only takes up the screen area. Follow these instructions exactly (i) Press the ‘Alt’ key once (ii) Press the down ‘arrow’ key once (iii) Press the left ‘arrow’ key once and press ‘Enter’. If this does not work then it may be caused by a misconfiguration of the screen resolution. Go to the Control Panel and try to set the resolution at 800 x 600 or whatever you feel is suitable.
