Being very new to the internet, I thought you might be able to help me with anti-virus software. I was told it is possible to download this from the net. If this is so, could you advise me how? Your help would be much appreciated.

It is possible to download anti-virus software off the internet. Most anti-virus packages that are sold at computer stores are available on the internet as a trial version. This means that you can use the software for a certain amount of days (normally 30 days) and if you like it you can buy it or if you do not, you can discontinue using it and uninstall it (this is like ‘try before you buy’). One of the more prominent anti-virus packages called McAfee VirusScan can be downloaded off the internet from the official site (www.mcafee.com) or other sites (eg. www.files.net.au which is located in Canberra - this should give you faster download speeds). If you do not like this anti-virus package then there are many more to choose from on the internet.
