Loosing sound

  • I have a Pentium 100, 48 MB RAM setup. On the odd occasion I use my machine to play games, everything works fine for the first few minutes, then I lose sound. When this happens, I have to reboot my machine to get the sound functioning again. Is there an inexpensive solution to my problem?

This problem is probably occurring because another program is trying to use the sound card at the same time as your game. Only one program can use it at a time which means that only one of the programs will be able to access the sound card. To correct this problem before you run a game press CTRL-ALT-DEL (I am assuming you are using Windows 9x) and check the list of open applications and close any unnecessary programs that are open.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
