Download TweakUI
-
Many thanks for answering my original query (re: file deletion CT 10 May). However I have another problem. I’m running Windows 95 and tried your second suggestion, downloading TweakUI from Microsoft, but after completing the procedure you told me I got the message “Your security settings do not allow this to be downloaded” (or words to that effect). This has happened to me before trying to download free material from the internet and I don’t know how to overcome it. I’m not confident enough to change any of the complicated settings or security instructions as I may get into an even bigger mess. Would this instruction/warning have anything to do with my VET 95 anti-virus protection?
Internet Explorer will not let you download Tweak UI because the security settings for Internet Explorer prevent the downloading of files. You can change your computer’s settings to allow you to download files by opening Internet Explorer and going to ‘View’ menu > ‘Internet Options’. When the internet options box appears, click the ‘Security’ tab. More than likely the security level set for your computer will be ‘High’ (an attribute of ‘high’ is that the user is not allowed to download files). Click the white circle next to the ‘Medium’ security setting so a black dot appears in it and then click the ‘Ok’ button. Now if you attempt to download the file it should work.
