CD-ROM not recognising CDs
-
After recently installing a Creative DVD, now every time I put a CD into my CD-ROM drive, it won’t recognize it. I have been through the manual and it won’t tell me what to do. What do you think I should do?
I am not too clear about the problem you are having. If you are running the DVD drive and another CD-ROM drive on the same computer where this problem is occurring, check for any conflicts between the hardware. Go to ‘Start menu’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Control Panel’, ‘System’ control panel and click the ‘Device Manager’ tab. In the device tree, which is presented in the white box that appears, expand the ‘CD-ROM’ branch and click your normal CD-ROM drive. Follow this by pressing the ‘Properties’ button. In the box that appears, check for any device conflicts that may be occurring (under ‘Device Status’). If there is a conflict, consult the manual that came with your DVD drive to resolve this problem. On the other hand, if your DVD drive will not read normal CD’s, I suggest you contact Creative Labs technical support. You can find Creative Labs on the internet at www.creative.com or the contact phone numbers should be on the registration form that came with your DVD drive.
