Hyperlinks in email

  • I run Win98 with Internet Explorer 5 - my problem is that when I click on hyperlinks in my e-mail in Outlook Express nothing happens apart from my modem lights flashing on and off a couple of times. I also notice that the same thing happens with some hyperlinks on web sites I bring up on IE 5.This problem only started happening a couple of weeks ago; before that everything worked perfectly. The only way I can run the above-mentioned hyperlinks is to copy them to Clipboard then paste it onto the address bar in my browser. Can you help please.

This is probably a programming bug in Outlook Express. I had the same problem when using Outlook Express in IE 4 but it was fixed when I upgraded to IE 5. I suggest that firstly you download the latest updates for Windows and IE 5 off the internet or WindowsUpdate.com or as a final solution you reinstall IE 5.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
