Volume control muted

  • I have IBM Voice Type Simply Speaking Gold Ver. 3.5 and Crystal Semiconductor Sound Software. I had the volume indicator in the system tray looking normal then I went into Voice Type and it turned to mute and when I tried to un-mute it and it just turned back to mute. The sound still works but I can’t control the volume using the system tray volume control. How can I rectify this problem (I tried reinstalling The Crystal software but when I went back to Voice Type it went back to mute)?

This problem is probably caused by the Voice Type software over riding your control of the Windows sound volumes and mute. If you muted the sound in Voice Type and then you try and un-mute it using the normal way in Windows, the software will probably over ride it. To get around the problem, just un-mute the sound from the Voice Type application.
