Internet Explorer address autocomplete

  • After using the Search Bar and then returning, for example to type the letter “a”, all previous searches starting with the letter “a” are displayed in a scroll down list. How can I delete this history when I wish to, to get rid of old search material that is no longer required.

You can fix this by turning off the Search Bar. You can do this by opening Internet Explorer then go to ‘Tools’ menu > ‘Internet Options’ and click the advanced tab. Scroll down the list until you see ‘Search from the Address Bar’. Under the sub-heading ‘When searching’ you will see three options. You can choose any of these four options but in your case I suggest that you click the option ‘Do not search from the Address Bar’ which will turn it off.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
