Word clip art
-
I recently bought a new PC which had Word 97 installed. In the clip art section I have only a few cartoons, no photos, videos or sounds. How can I get these? Thanks for your help.
The reason that you do not have much clipart on your computer is that most of the clip art is contained on the Word 97 CD and not on the hard drive (to conserve space). When you load up the clip art window in Word it should ask you to insert your CD for more clipart but if it doesn’t then don’t worry, you can install it manually. If you do not have the Word 97 CD I suggest you ask the retailer who sold you the computer because this CD is normally part of the package. If you do have the CD, insert it and then open up Clip Art. If more Clip Art still isn’t available, click the ‘Import Clips’ button. In the file navigator that comes up, go to the CD drive, open the directory containing the Clip Art (on the CD) and select all of the Clip Art that you want to import (by clicking the first file, hold down the ’shift’ key, and click the last file - this will select all files) and click the ‘Open’ button. This will import all of the clip art from the CD.
