Moving to Outlook

  • My PC uses Eudora for e-mail and Netscape Communicator for internet. If I want to switch to Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Internet Explorer, is there a way to copy my Eudora nicknames and stored In/Out messages to Outlook, and to copy my web site bookmarks to Explorer?

It is possible and very easy to copy your Eudora messages and nicknames across to Outlook and to copy your Bookmarks from Netscape to IE. Internet Explorer and Outlook have an import/export feature which allows you to import items from other programs into itself. To copy your Eudora messages across, go the ‘File’ menu > select ‘Import’ > and click ‘Messages’. Follow the wizard to import your messages into Outlook. Do the same thing to import your address book/nicknames from Eudora to Outlook except select ‘Other Address Book’ from the menu. To import your bookmarks from Netscape to Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer, go to the ‘File’ menu > select ‘Import and Export’ > Click the ‘Next’ button > Select ‘Import Favorites’ followed by clicking the ‘Next’ button, and follow the wizard.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
