OpenGL upgrade problem

  • I own a Savage4 3D Accelerator card and I recently upgraded to the latest OpenGL drivers using the GLSetup program. After I had upgraded the OpenGL drivers when I reboot the computer all of the startup drivers in the Autoexec.bat, etc… load correctly but just after the Windows 98 Splash Screen disappears the computer starts to load the desktop but stops, goes blank, and totally stops all activity. I have to restart in Safe Mode and uninstall the drivers to restore my computer to normal operations. Any suggestions?

This is a recognised problem by Creative Labs and also may occur when you try and update the drivers for your Savage4 Card. You can correct this by installing the drivers, booting up in safe mode, run the ‘Blaster Control’ application, open the ‘Blaster Control Properties’, click the ‘Tweak’ icon, in the Tweak Module which will appear, clear the checkbox next to ‘Sideband Protocol’. Press the ‘Ok’ button to exit out of that and restart your computer.
