I recently downloaded a desktop theme from the internet and I’m having some trouble with the sound. I can go to the file in my C drive that I’ve unzipped and play the wave files from there, but some of the longer ones won’t play when they’re applied to my sound scheme by my theme manager or manually through the control panel. I get a message saying that I should make sure that audio compression is installed, but to the best of my knowledge it already is. Would you be able to tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Even though I delayed responding while I researched your question I haven’t been able to find a solid explanation and fix to your problem. The obvious thing to suggest is that you check that audio compression is installed, and if it isn’t, then install it. You should be able to do this by going to the ‘Start’ menu > ‘Settings’ > ‘Control Panel’ and opening the ‘Multimedia’ control panel.
