Two versions of all downloaded emails

  • Can you explain to me why my Outlook Express 5, which I use through Bigpond and is also synchronised with my Hotmail account, seems to be retrieving two versions of every inwards e-mail message, even though both are identical and use the same destination address? I had an “invalid page fault at MSOE.dll” from
deleting messages from the Hotmail server (it went into an “offline task loop”) but I reloaded that file - now I’m getting 2 copies of every inwards message.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your query but I have been thinking on this for a while and I still can’t come up with an answer for your problem. My best suggestion would be to reinstall Outlook Express 5. Sorry I couldn’t be any more help but if any other readers have suggestions, please send them in and I will forward them on to Mark.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
