Printer not responding
-
I have recently upgraded my desktop to a Pentium II, 233Mhz, 4 gig HDD, and a CD-RW with Mitsumi software. I have 2 printers installed, an Epson Stylus 800 and a Canon BJC-7000, which I can select as required. When working with the CD-RW program my Canon BJC-7000 Bubble Jet does not work as it should printing art work. I downloaded the latest printer driver off the web, for Windows 98, but this does not work at all. The status monitor screen tells me that the printer is not responding and I get an ‘error writing to LPT1′. The printer LPT1 port properties screen shown no conflict. I have re-installed the old printer driver to keep this printer working. Can you help?
When you have the most recent printer drivers installed on your computer is your CD-R application the only application affected by the ‘error writing to LPT1 ‘? If it is, then it is probably a specific problem between your Canon BJC-7000 and the CD-R program. In this case, I would advise taking up the problem with the makers of the CD-R program. However, if it is a global problem with all of your software (ie. whenever you try to print regardless of what application you are using you get the error) then this is probably a problem with the Canon drivers and I suggest you take up the problem with Canon. I would be happy to look into it some more for you if you care to provide me with more specific information (eg. name of the CD-R software, exactly where you downloaded the Canon drivers from, etc…)
