Cannot save file
-
I tried twice to download Windows Media Player 7, first time via the Windows Media Player upgrade function and, when this failed, from ZDNet. The problem is after the download completes and Norton Antivirus scans it, the message “Cannot save file” appears. Can you advise?
I am not too sure about the cause of this problem. It may be caused by Norton Antivirus but that isn’t certain as the error message could be coming from a different source. Close down Norton Antivirus and all its counterparts (forcefully using CTRL-ALT-DEL if needed) and try to download Windows Media Player 7 again. If this doesn’t work, we can assume that the problem is caused by another source. I also assume that this problem only occurs when attempting to download Windows Media Player 7 (as you didn’t mention a problem with any other files) which deepens the mystery even more. As Windows Media Player 7 is a very large file to download I suggest that the best solution would be to purchase the October 2000 issue of Australian PC User magazine. This has Windows Media Player 7 included on the cover CD so you can install the application directly from the CD.
