Couldn’t find any scene definitions in ‘.’ - reinstall

  • I run WindowsMe with a Celeron 600mhz, 160mb RAM and a total of 26gb hard drive space. My problem is that I cannot access certain screen savers (eg. Organic art). When I try to use them I get a message ‘Couldn’t find any scene definitions in ‘.’ - reinstall’. I have installed every available screen saver through the Control Panel’s ‘Add/Remove Programs’ but with no luck. Can you help please?

Scene definitions seem to be the actual scenes/pictures which you see in screen savers. Firstly, try reinstalling the screen savers as the error message suggests. You can do this by going into the Control Panel’s ‘Add/Remove Programs’ and uninstall the screen savers and then reinstall them. Apart from this, I am not sure what else you could do short of totally reinstalling WindowsMe itself. However, if you don’t wish to go through all this hassle, why not download some screen savers off the internet? There are many sites with a wide selection of screen savers to download. One of these is themes.tucows.com/screen.html. You can also find a variety of free screen savers by doing internet searches for ‘free screen savers’.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
