Disable ‘Auto-select’ encoding

  • I wrote last year when I was not able to print from Internet Explorer and Outlook Express after upgrading to Internet Explorer 5.5. You replied with a suggestion to disable ‘Auto-select’ encoding. Unfortunately, this hasn’t done the trick so I’m still stuck with a problem of not being able to print. I would appreciate it if you could advise of any other options that I could try.

    I have had another look at Microsoft Knowledge Base which continues to recommend that ‘Auto-select’ be disabled. However, I have found it is also necessary to enable ‘Western European (ISO)’ encoding after disabling ‘Auto-select’ so give this a try.
