Alternative phone numbers in dial-up networking

  • In your column on Monday 3rd September 2001 you commented that it is possible to have alternative phone numbers in dial up networking. Where on earth did you find this option?

    As far as I know, the option for alternative phone numbers is only available in Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000. The person who wrote in did not specify their operating system so I included this extra advice for them (in case they are running NT 4 or 2000) and for any other interested readers. I am apologise if I confused you about this option.
