Transfer rejected email into new message

  • Sometimes when sending emails my message is not delivered because I have entered an incorrect address. How does one transfer the content of the rejected message into a new email with the correct address? I use Windows 98.

This can be done either of two ways. Firstly, when an email is undeliverable, normally a bounce back message is sent from the mail server containing the contents of the undelivered mail. You can copy and paste the content of the email contained in the bounce back message into a new email (which has the correct address). You do this by highlighting the message in the bounce back email, pressing CTRL-C (to copy the contents to the clipboard), compose a new email, and then press CTRL-V (to paste the contents of the rejected email into the new email). Alternatively, you can go into the ‘Sent Items’ folder in Outlook Express, open the email that was sent to the incorrect address, and then click ‘Forward’, enter the new email address, and click ‘Send’ to forward the message.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
