-
When browsing the web, occasionally a message appears that ‘An exceptions OE has occurred at 0028:C15A1E09 in VxD AFVXD (01) + 00001649. This was called from 0028:C18406F4 in VxD PPPMAC C04+000079B4. Press any key to attempt to continue or Ctrl-Alt-Del to shut down your machine’. On pressing a key the machine returns to normal. Can you tell me how to stop this message appearing as it is annoying.
Both of the files which you mention, AFVDX and PPPMAC, are Dial-up Networking files. If you are using Windows 95, this is a known issue which can be rectified by updating Windows 95 Dial-Up Networking. A full explanation of this and a download link, can be found at the Microsoft Knowledge Base article support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q179449. However, this problem could also be related to TCP/IP not being installed correctly. I would only recommend that you consider reinstalling TCP/IP if the problem is a major irritant, as it is a tedious and cumbersome procedure! I would be happy living with the error if it doesn’t have any other side-effects and it is unlikely to lead to a major problem with the operation of your computer.
