New windows are minimised

  • I have just updated to Outlook Express 6 (under Windows 98) and when I open email messages to a new window (i.e., double click) they are minimised which means I have to click the icon in the task bar to maximise the window. This is very annoying. How can I fix this problem?

You should be able to fix this problem by the following procedure. Open an email message and maximise the window. Now adjust the size of the window to your requirements. It doesn’t matter if the window is already at a satisfactory size, the point is you must adjust the window size in order for Outlook Express to remember the size of the window and that the window is maximised. Once you have adjusted the size, close the message window by right-clicking on the icon in the task bar and selecting ‘Close’.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
