Virus Not Restored

  • I refer to your advice in the Canberra Times on Monday 22nd April under ‘Icky Kak’ where you recommended removal of a virus that had been detected by EZ Antivirus. I always thought that when my antivirus (Vet) detected a virus and displayed ‘Not Restored’ it meant that the virus was removed. Is that not so?

As far as I am aware, when Vet displays the message ‘Not Restored’ in response to finding a virus this means that the virus has not been deleted and in the case of a specific file being infected, the original, non-virus infected file, has not been restored. However, you may wish to contact Vet technical support to verify whether this assumption is correct.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
