Require TWAIN driver

  • My Canoscan N670U scanner is not working. When I attempt to use the scanner a message appears saying that I need to get a TWAIN driver. The computer is running Windows 98. Do you know where I can find a TWAIN driver?

This sounds like the scanner drivers have not been installed correctly. Generally the TWAIN drivers for scanners are included with the drivers package. Try uninstalling all the current scanner drivers you have installed, go to www.canon.com.au/products/scanners/scanners_low_medium_volume/canoscann670u_drivers.html and download the latest drivers, then install them. The drivers which you will need are the ScanGear Toolbox and the ScanGear CS Driver. For the information of other readers, TWAIN drivers sit between the scanner and an application and allows the user to scan images directly into applications (e.g., Word) - otherwise you would have to use a special application to scan the image and then move the image to the application, such as Word.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
