Invalid Backweb Application ID
-
When I start the computer the following message appears: ‘Run Error: Invalid Backweb Application ID 137903′. After clicking OK the message disappears until the next reboot. What does the message mean and how can I be rid of it?
Backweb is an application used to automatically update software. It is likely that you have some software installed on your computer which uses Backweb. The best way to delete Backweb is to reinstall the software with which Backweb comes. However, when you install the software after uninstalling it, be sure not to install the software with the ‘update’ feature. To do this, you will need to identify the software which uses Backweb (which could prove to be difficult). On the other hand, Backweb may have been installed as a separate application on your computer, which you may be able to more readily uninstall. Go to the ‘Add/Remove Program’ control panel and check if Backweb is in the list of applications which you can uninstall (it may be named ‘Service Connection (BackWEB)’). If not, the next best option is to stop Backweb loading on startup. To do this, go to the ‘Start’ menu > ‘Run’ and type ‘msconfig’ (without the quotes) and press OK. In the window that appears, click the ‘Startup’ tab. In the list of applications, find the Backweb application, untick this and click OK. Restart your computer. Backweb should no longer load on startup.
