Acrobat hangs in Internet Explorer

  • The computer hangs when attempting to load Adobe Acrobat reader within Internet Explorer to view PDF files. However, if the reader is already loaded PDF files will open. Secondly, Lizard Tech’s DJVU 3.1 (image compression software) gives the message ‘SDK not properly installed. Please reinstall’.

Regarding the Acrobat Reader problem, first have a look at the following Adobe Support Knowledge Base article which addresses your exact issue www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/2d7a.htm. If this article does not help in solving the problem, try upgrading to the latest version of Acrobat Reader (version 6.0.1 at the time of writing). This can be done at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. Regarding the problem with DJVU, apart from attempting to reinstall the program I am unable to provide any other assistance as I was unable to find much information on this product. If any other readers are familiar with this software package please write in.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
