Would you be able please to advise on packages which I could use to transfer LPs to CD? I believe some packages are able to remove scratches.

There are a lot of packages available which claim to be able to copy LPs to either MP3 format or onto CD. Most of the webpages you find on the internet claiming to provide instructions on the procedures do not exactly contain quality material. Regarding software, I recommend that you take a trip to a software retailer in Canberra to see what they have on the shelves. Take note of the different software available and then have a look on the internet at reviews of those packages to see which ones would be best suited to your needs.
