Hide inactive system tray icons
-
Windows XP has a feature to hide inactive system tray icons. However, you may find that Windows is automatically hiding an icon that you want to remain visible. To stop Windows from hiding a particular icon, go to the ‘Start’ menu > ‘Control Panel’. Open ‘Taskbar and Start Menu’ then click the ‘Taskbar’ tab. Under ‘Notification area’, click the ‘Customize’¦’ button. Select the icon you would like to keep displayed and set the icon to ‘Always show’. Likewise, you can also set icons to ‘Always hide’ or ‘Hide when inactive’.
