Weather updates on the internet

One of the more useful services I have found on the internet is weather updates. Quite a few people are not aware that the Australian Bureau of Meteorology publishes regularly updated weather forecasts for Australian cities. You can find the forecasts by visiting www.bom.gov.au and click on your state. For ACT residents, you can access the weather forecasts directly at:

Windows cannot find C:Windowssystem32keybdcntl.exe

When Windows starts the following message appears: ‘Windows cannot find C:Windowssystem32keybdcntl.exe’. Clicking OK causes another message to appear: ‘Could not load or run C:Windowssystem32keybdcntl.exe specified in the registry. How can I stop these messages from appearing? Disk Defragmenter restarts

Disk Defragmenter does not operate properly. As the scan reaches anywhere from 1% to 10%, it stops and restarts with the message ‘Drive contents changed, restarting’. Disk Defragmenter does this behavior continually until the program is stopped. We recently upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP, so this may have contributed to the problem. Can you help? (more…)

Change Word 2000 to Australian dictionary

How do I change the spelling in Microsoft Word 2000 to an Australian dictionary? I have been able to change the spelling in the current document to Australian, but it always defaults back to American after starting a new document. (more…)

Incorrect characters appearing when typing

When typing certain characters on the keyboard, different characters appear on screen. For example:
- ” produces @
- @ produces ”
- # produces £
- produces #
All other text keys seem to work normally. How can I fix this issue? The computer is running Windows XP Professional. (more…)
