Search within custom file types in Windows XP
-
A good tool within Windows XP is the Search feature which allows you to search for a word or phrase within files. This is useful when searching for text within Word documents or text files. However, not many people know that this feature does not search within all file types. For example: if you have written a PHP script and saved the file with the .PHP extension, Windows will not search within that file type, even though the content of the file is text. If you regularly save files containing text with other file extensions, it can be very useful to be able to search within these files. To make Windows search within certain file types, there are a few methods you can employ. These are detailed at support.microsoft.com/kb/309173. id=”more-1470″>
