Photos not opening correctly
-
Since purchasing a new printer, photos will no longer open normally. Whenever attempting to open a picture, it opens using the Omnipage software. I have tried uninstalling Omnipage, but then Nero opens the pictures. How can I just open the pictures using the normal program?
From the description of this issue, it seems the file association for the graphics file formats has been changed. This was likely during the installation of Omnipage, resulting in Omnipage being associated with these file types. I know Nero is another program which tries to associate with graphic files, so when you uninstalled Omnipage, Nero seems to take over the file association. Therefore, we need to reset the file association so the graphics files open in your preferred viewing application. When you encounter a file format (e.g. JPEG, GIF, etc.) which is opening in the incorrect application, right-click on the file and select ‘Open With’. A sub-menu should appear and select ‘Choose Program’. In the window appears, select the program you wish to use to open the file (e.g. Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, which is the default viewer for graphics files). Tick ‘Always use the selected program to open this kind of file’ and then click OK. The file should open in the specified program and all subsequent files in that same file format should also open in the specified program.
