Error loading cmicnfg.cpl
-
When ever the computer is started the following message appears: ‘Error loading cmicnfg.cpl. The specified module could not be found’. How can I stop this message from appearing? The computer is running Windows XP SP2.
This message is related to a control panel applet for sound cards and can occur after updating the sound card drives (such as when upgrading to Windows XP Service Pack 2). For step-by-step instructions for resolving this issue, have a look at the following article in The Silicon Kid archive: www.siliconkid.com.au/index.php/skarchive/viewquestion/1598/ .
