  • Export PDF and XPS from Office 2007

    Office 2007 has a great add-in which allows the export of PDF and XPS files directly from Office 2007 programs. This add-in is not included in the default distribution of Office, but instead needs to be downloaded separately from the Microsoft Download Centre (but the download is very small, less than 1 MB). To download the add-in, visit: www.microsoft.com/downloads and search for ‘office 2007 pdf’. Once installed, you can export to PDF or XPS from Office by going to the Office button > ‘Save As’ > ‘PDF or XPS’. (more…)

  • Task Manager Tiny Footprint mode

    When attempting to access Task Manager using CTRL-ALT-DEL all that appears is the list of running processes with no surrounding window, menu, or title bar. How can I get the rest of the window to display? (more…)

  • Open programs do not appear in the taskbar

    When I open a program it does not display the program on the taskbar. This means once a program has been minimised the only way I can access the program is to use ALT-TAB. How can I get the programs to appear in the taskbar? The computer is running Windows 98. (more…)

  • Computer not recognising USB storage devices

    Recently I purchased a Creative Zen Vision M music player and an external hard drive. These were both working fine on the computer until one day when the computer would no longer recognise either of these devices. I tried both devices on another computer and they work correctly, and have also tried three different USB ports but the same problem persists. However, the computer has no problem recognising the USB printer. How can I make the computer recognise the music player and external hard drive? The computer is running Windows XP. (more…)
