Computer monitor imploded
-
My computer monitor imploded - it blew-up suddenly. If you would diagnose this catastrophic single event in my life, and suggest possible measures, I would be grateful.
Having a computer monitor ‘implode’ is certainly not a good thing! Repairing monitors is not really worth the money, since new monitors are relatively inexpensive, so you would be best advised to purchase a new monitor. From the description of the incident, I assume your old monitor was a CRT monitor. These days, it would be quite hard to find a new CRT monitor, since they have been superseded by LCD/TFT monitors (thin, flat panel monitors). Fortunately, the LCD monitors are now quite affordable so you should be able to purchase a new 17′ LCD monitor for around $280 and a 19′ LCD monitor for around $320. The LCD monitors also have the advantage of being very space conscious (since they are flat panel monitors) and are also quite durable.
