Microsoft Office Outlook is synchronizing folders

Downloading email messages in Microsoft Outlook 2003 has recently become very slow. In fact, it has become so slow that I often resort to using webmail to read emails, as this is faster. The Outlook status window constantly displays a message saying ‘Microsoft Office Outlook is synchronizing folders’ so I wonder whether this is causing the problem. Our ISP does not know the cause of the issue, and is certain it is related to our computer. The computer is running Windows XP.

The story thus far...This website is provided as a free resource to the community.
