Selecting text in Word

  • Word 2003 and Word 2007 have some handy shortcuts for selecting text, as outlined below:
? To select one word, double-click on the word.
? To select an entire paragraph, triple-click anywhere in the paragraph.
? To select a continuous segment of text, click to place the cursor where you would like the selection to begin, hold the SHIFT key, and then click where you would like the selection to end.
? To select discrete separate segments of text, select the first segment of text, hold the CTRL key, select the next segment of text (which may be on a different line, or in a different paragraph), and repeat until all the segments have been selected.
These shortcuts are a real time saver, so see how you can use them in your daily word processing!

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
