Snow Leopard Minimise to Dock

  • Mac OS X Snow Leopard has quite a few nice little improvements in the user interface. One improvement which I recently found is the ability to minimise windows into their respective dock icons. Under previous versions of Mac OS X, windows minimise to the right-hand side of the dock, occupying a place in the dock. The only problem with this system is that if you minimise many windows they each occupy space in the dock, which can result in a very crowded dock! However, Snow Leopard has introduced the nifty feature where windows can be minimised behind their application icon in the dock, so that each minimised window does not take up additional space. To turn on this feature go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Dock and tick “Minimize windows into application icon”.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
