Printing the Last Page First

Often when printing documents on my Canon Pixma MP600 printer I would like to print the last page first, eliminating the need to re-order the pages once they have printed. However, I am unable to make the printer achieve this behaviour. Can you provide advice on how this could be done? (more…)

Backup Windows System Files

Earlier this year I read your terrific article about using the in-built Windows XP Backup utility. The article detailed how to backup all data on the computer. I wanted to know whether there is any way to just backup the Windows system files? Using a restore point achieves this same result, but stores the backup on the same drive as the system (so this is no use if there is a hardware failure). (more…)

Minimising Windows in Windows 7

When working with multiple open windows your screen can become busy and cluttered and often you may find that you wish to minimise all windows except for the window in which you are currently working. Windows 7 has an easy method to minimise all windows except the active window. This can be done by holding the Windows key while pressing the Home key.

Facebook Not Displaying Correctly

A few months ago the Facebook page stopped displaying properly on my computer in Firefox and Internet Explorer. At the time I do not recall installing anything new on the computer or changing any configuration settings, although I may have done so and cannot recall. Now, the Facebook page displays with headings along the left-hand side and only a few photos appear. So it seems that the computer is not rendering the Facebook page correctly. No other websites are displayed improperly and all other computers on the network can display the Facebook page normally. Deleting the temporary internet files and history have not resolved the problem. The computer is running Windows Vista. (more…)

Removal of Programs from Windows XP

When doing a tidy-up on my Windows XP computer I removed Outlook Express. In doing so, I lost numerous other Windows features, such as Calculator, Volume Control, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, and the Games program group. How can I recover these items, but not Outlook Express? Will I need to reinstall Windows to recover these removed programs? (more…)
