Hide the Word 2007 Ribbon

  • Occasionally I wish to display a Word document to a group of people (perhaps using a data projector). However, the Word 2007 ribbon can take up quite a bit of space, particularly when displaying the document at a lower resolution on a data projector. Fortunately there is a very easy way to minimise the ribbon. Right-click anywhere in the area around the ribbon tabs (e.g. Home, Insert, Page Layout, etc.) and select “Minimize the ribbon”. This will remove the ribbon from the display freeing-up quite a bit of space. Repeat this procedure again to show the ribbon.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
