Move Table Rows in Microsoft Word

  • When working with tables in Microsoft Word a common, yet difficult to achieve task is moving around rows. Many users resort to cutting and pasting rows, which can be quite a cumbersome and long-winded process. Fortunately there is a much easier way to move rows. Click within the row that you wish to move and then hold down the SHIFT-ALT keys and use the up and down arrows to move the row up or down in the table. Selecting multiple rows and following the same procedure will also allow you to move several rows at a time.

Hi there. If this is the first time you are posting a comment it will not appear immediately, but needs to be approved. This is necessary in order to combat comment spam. However, once you have submitted a comment (which is subsequently approved) you do not need to go through this process again - the site remembers who you are and auto-approves your comments. Nifty eh? Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience that this may cause for your first comment post.
