    If you have created a great slide presentation that you wish to share with people it can be quite cumbersome and inconvenient to email the entire presentation file. However, there is an online service called SlideShare (www.slideshare.net) which allows you to upload your presentations and make them viewable online. Free accounts are available together with paid Pro accounts that have additional features.

  • Networking Windows XP and Windows 7

    The two computers (one running Windows 7, and another running Windows XP) in my house are connected to the internet through a broadband router. I understand that because the computers are on the same network I can share files between the two machines. As a workaround I have been emailing files to myself from one computer, and then downloading the email message on the other computer, but this seems like a cumbersome way and I am thinking that there must be an easier method.   • Vista only starts in Safe Mode

  • Read Webpages Later

    Bookmarking web pages which are interesting to read later can quickly become rather cumbersome when searching through the list of bookmarks to access the page at a later date. Two services which help alleviate this issue are Instapaper (www.instapaper.com) and Read It Later (readitlaterlist.com). These services allow you to save and organise web pages for later reading, and even allows you to read them offline.

  • Slow Computer

    Recently my computer has become very slow after it operates for more than one hour, most frustratingly the words on the screen do not keep up with my typing and clicking on internet items does not always produce results. I have contacted my ISP several times and they have checked everything from their end and say that nothing is wrong. The NOD32 antivirus product is installed on the computer and there are no viruses. The computer is running Windows XP. (more…)
