Game running too fast

I recently upgraded my home computer from an old Pentium 90 to a PIII 800MHz. One of my kids’ favourite games, Magic the Gathering, is now running so fast as to be unplayable. I have heard that it is possible to slow newer, faster machines down for specific games. Can you tell me how to do this or else how to find out? (more…)

Cannot find CARD.DLL

I run a Pentium II-300c with Windows 98. Recently I had a self-inflicted problem and returned the computer to base for adjustment.When the computer came back I could not call up the Card Games (Freecell).When I click on the icon the following message appears. ‘Cannot find CARD.DLL. Windows needs this file to run C:WindowsFreecell.EXE’. I have tried all sorts of things without success I hope you can help. (more…)

Card breaks

When playing card games on Windows 98, quite often a card played (by clicking it) breaks into two or three pieces and the screen seizes requiring re-booting. The retailers of Windows 98 in Canberra do not know how to fix it and the technical support people at Microsoft do not respond to my cries for help. Could you please assist me in this problem? (more…)
