By skid on October 4, 1999 in Internet and email | No Comments
After using the Search Bar and then returning, for example to type the letter “a”, all previous searches starting with the letter “a” are displayed in a scroll down list. How can I delete this history when I wish to, to get rid of old search material that is no longer required. (more…)

Hyperlinks in email
By skid on September 20, 1999 in Internet and email | No Comments
I run Win98 with Internet Explorer 5 - my problem is that when I click on hyperlinks in my e-mail in Outlook Express nothing happens apart from my modem lights flashing on and off a couple of times. I also notice that the same thing happens with some hyperlinks on web sites I bring up on IE 5.This problem only started happening a couple of weeks ago; before that everything worked perfectly. The only way I can run the above-mentioned hyperlinks is to copy them to Clipboard then paste it onto the address bar in my browser. Can you help please. (more…)

Email accounts in Outlook
By skid on August 30, 1999 in Internet and email | No Comments
I have recently upgraded from Outlook Express to Outlook 98. I have an “email only” account with an ISP, but my actual internet connection is through a different ISP. The “email only” is a very cost effective account, and gives me the flexibility to retain a constant email address, regardless of who I may select in the future as my primary ISP. Outlook 98 shows both the connections in the “Tools-Options-Mail Services” menu, and checks incoming mail on both sites. However, when I send mail, it shows as originating from the primary ISP site whereas I would prefer it shows the “email only” site as the origin, and thus the “natural” return address. Under the previous version of Outlook Express I was able to nominate the “email only” site as the sender, this doesn’t seem possibly under Outlook 98. Any suggestions? (more…)

Arrange favourites into alphabetical order
By skid on August 2, 1999 in Internet and email | No Comments
I’m running IE5 with Windows 98 Plus. When I add a ‘favorite’ web site to my list, the compilation seems to be in date of addition order. How do you re-arrange the list to be in alphabetical order?
